About the Piece:
The "Sorayama puppy robot" refers to the iconic Sony AIBO, conceptualized and designed in 1999 by legendary Japanese contemporary artist Hajime Sorayama. Renowned for his "Sexy Robot" airbrush illustrations, Sorayama gave the world's first autonomous consumer pet robot its sleek, chrome-plated, and futuristic aesthetic.
Permanent Collection: Because of its cultural and technological impact, the original AIBO designed by Sorayama is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
From a series of prints for Sorayama's latest retrospective in Tokyo. Only available at the retrospective, LAAMS brought these back from Tokyo and had them custom framed locally.
