From the Artist: This piece is a piece of reclamation, reclaiming "The black delinquent trope" that was used during the Jim Crow era depicting young African American males as delinquents and unpredictable. I wanted to reclaim that imagery in this piece and make it empowering and reminiscent of black pride and culture.
