About the Artist: 

Ocean Waring is an artist we met at one of our LAAMS Open Call

Ocean Waring (b. 1997) is an acrylic/oil painter based in Brooklyn, NY.
Although not traditionally trained, he briefly studied observational
drawing and color theory at the Art Students League (2017 - 2018) under
Robert Cenedella and Lisa Dinhofer respectively, which inspired his
passion for making work today. His work has been featured in group
shows in New York City and London, two of which he hosted and
curated himself, bringing together a community to highlight the artistic
talent in Far Rockaway. Growing up in New York City he amassed a wide
range of interests and experiences, immersing himself into streetwear
culture eventually signing to modelling agency, diving into the fashion
industry while developing his skills as an artist.
