The Point d’Ironie originated following a discussion between agnès b., Christian Boltanski and Hans Ulrich Obrist in 1997. Six to eight issues are published every year, each one designed by an artist who makes it his own. This poster accompanied Ryan McGinley's 2002 Edition. Folded page can be reframed to expose entire page (printed front and back).
From Agnes B:
" I first met Ryan McGinley at a party somewhere in downtown New York, we talked and had a great connection...he showed me a few photos that he pulled out of his pocket. They reminded me a bit of Nan Goldin'[s works that I had showed at Galerie Du Jour in the 90s. But Ryan's photos were so different in that he was photographing his friends outdoors, close to nature, in a very Neo-romantic, lyrical way, akin to painting, evoking the difficulties of youth and coming of age."
