For our sixth installment we feature multi faceted artist Melanie "IZA" Izaguirre out of Queens, NY & her exhibition entitled “Por Las Buenas o Las Malas.”
Melanie "IZA" Izaguirre is a mixed media artist whose practice investigates the complexities of embodiment through themes of tension, constraint, and the impermanence of the body. Utilizing materials such as charcoal, oil paint, and found objects like wood and metal, she explores how posture and spatial context can situate the body within liminal states. Through layered processes and materiality, Iza invites viewers to reflect on vulnerability, corporeality, and the shifting nature of bodily experience.
